Why do my tags disappear?
I have tried to organize my emails using the colorful tags available but they only show up for a little while. Consistently when I go back to check, the tags and the colors have just disappeared for no apparent reason. Why is this happening?

This article explains how Thunderbird handles tags: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Tags It points (at the end) to a bug report of tags disappearing on IMAP accounts when a folder is re-indexed, if the IMAP server does not support tags: could this apply to you? (The article explains how to find out if your mail server supports tags or not.) The only other explanation I can think of is that Thunderbird functions can be affected in unpredictable ways by various themes and add-ons. Try running Thunderbird in safe mode for a while and only using the default in-built tags: does the problem persist even then?
