Hot to make Global Search (CTRL+K) include all local sub-folders?

Hello,

when I use the Global Search function (CTRL+K), it won't search in some of my local sub-folders. I have several pop3 accounts that all store incoming mails in Local Folders. On top of that, I have some (20+) custom folders sitting in Local Folders, for archival purposes.

Running a global search will only find mails in some of these folders. When I use the search function "Advanced Features" -> "Search Messages" ("Search for messages in: Local Folders" / "Search subfolders" checked) however, it seems to properly include all sub-folders.

By the way, on another system that uses only IMAP-accounts, Global Search (CTRL+K) seems to work fine in this regard.

Some things I have already tried: - Rebuilding the Global Database - Checking each folder's settings for the "Include messages in this folder in Global Search results" (which is for IMAP only anyway?)

Many thanks for your help in advance!

Some additional information: - I have imported the sub-folders and e-mails from Windows Mail into Thunderbird using a program called MailStore. - When I create a new subfolder and move to it an e-mail from a subfolder that doesn't appear in the Global Search, then that mail will now be visible to Global Search. So a workaround to my problem would be to create most subfolders anew.

Working from memory, if you right-click a subfolder that is omitted and select its Properties, is there a checkbox to "include this folder in searches"?

Thank you for your reply!

Yes, there is a checkbox called "Include messages in this folder in Global Search results". However, this is checked for all my sub-folders already.

As stated above, I found a workaround for this issue (creating each folder anew). So I guess the only interesting thing that's left about this question is that there might be an obscure(?) bug in Thunderbird, that happens when importing a large folder structure from another program (in my case, importing from Windows Mail through MailStore).
