Can malware or adware cause a bookmark to appear ? On my computer under 'other bookmarks' there are several links ie 10 if them attached ( hook up up sex sites and porn ) how would these have got here if I didn't put them there?? (This is for Mozilla Firefox on computer using Windows xp)

Yes, it is possible, I have seen it happen myself (many years ago now).
