I get tired of adjusting the font size and font that I like. It isn't permanent. How to make it fixed without keep adjusting it? Thanks

On the toolbar 
> Options > Composition general.
Note here that medium is the size used by almost all web sites. If you start using larger, I encourage you to look at the mail you are sending in a web based mail site like google or yahoo to see if the content looks clownishly large.
Found a solution to make an adjustment. I use Mac. Thunderbird -->Preference --> Composition --> Find Font.
