Until a week ago I was able to do all my banking online. I have been using it in Australia, I am no back home in South Africa and suddenly I cannot get past the Firefox browser. Which comes up and says that Firefox cannot establish a connection to the Barclays server. I have been on to Barclays and they cannot see a problem!! Firefox is the only browser I use.

I have the same problem.

Barclays advised me to check that I was using the latest version of Java. When I attempted to install Java, I received the following on-screen information:

Java plug-in does not work in Firefox after installing Java.
   This article applies to:
       Browser(s) Firefox
       Java version(s): 7.0, 8.0
Firefox limits NPAPI support (technology required for Java applets)
   64-bit Firefox
The 64-bit version of Firefox does not support NPAPI plug-ins, including Java.
   Firefox 52 and above
Beginning with Firefox 52 (released March 2017), plug-in support is limited to Adobe Flash, and drops support for NPAPI, impacting plugins for Java, Silverlight, and other similar NPAPI based plugins.
If you have problems accessing Java applications using Firefox, Oracle recommends using Internet Explorer (Windows) or Safari (Mac OS X) instead. Developers and System administrators looking for alternative ways to support Firefox users should see this blog regarding Launching Web Start applications.

It appears that I need to use a different browser for my banking. Chrome works well.

If you still want to downgrade, look under; I still want to downgrade. Click the Directory of other versions and languages link. Look for the directory of the version that you want. But, remember that old versions may have security issues.
