I have FireFox on my laptop but I don't have a smart phone & up dates keep asking to input mobile number and when I want it want update laptop only smart phone not practical for someone on low income, I keep my laptop but not my phone when only have two calls a month may be, so why would I have a smart phone.

That is part of the sync process. Turn it off. about:preferences#sync
