Hi,

Ever since I upgraded to Firefox Quantum 57.0 I always get the error message "'Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible " every time I open Firefox. I click on "OK" then I can use Firsfox but it is very slow and the error message pops up 2-3 other times.

I tried the different solutions suggested on this forum such as reinstalling Firefox, renaming the profile.ini file and lastlly deleting the profile.INI file.

None of these suggestions helped.

Can someone please help?

Regards

We need to create a new profile using the steps in the following article.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles#w_manage-profiles-when-firefox-is-open

After you do that follow the steps to set the new profile as the default.

Please reply back so we can proceed to the next step to restore your bookmarks and history.

Please let us know if we can assist you further.

A possible cause is that the file path to the Firefox profile folder is containing non ASCII characters.

Do you have a Windows user account that has special Unicode characters?
