Webpages not loading all content
Hello, for some time now I noticed that certain webpages are not showing all the content. Aswell as certain actions such as clicking a dropdown menu do not work. There is however no issue when I open the link in a private window or in any other webbrowser.
Giving a random example of what I noticed today: https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/7rt3z6/na_lcs_2018_spring_week_1_day_1_live_discussion/
It doesnt show the "Click to see spoiler" which then opens the format list. Nor does de dropdown menu for the comments work. What I see can be seen in the screenshot.
I've tried safemode, disabling hardware acceleration, downgrading to another version, clearing cashe, reinstalling, disabling all addons, ...

What's different with a private window:
(1) Bypass cached files (ruled out by clearing cache)
(2) Bypasses regular window cookies
(3) Tracking Protection
It's interesting that the site works properly in a private window. Normally it's the other way around because the Tracking Protection feature in private windows can block some content. Maybe it's blocking something interfering with the page? To see whether Tracking Protection is kicking in on Reddit, look for the "shield" icon toward the left end of the address bar. This article has more info on this feature: What happened to Tracking Protection?.
If you need to clear a site's regular window cookies (this will log you out):
While viewing a page on the site, try either:
- right-click (on Mac Ctrl+click) a blank area of the page and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
- (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
- click the padlock or "i" icon in the address bar, then the ">" button, then More Information, and finally the "View Cookies" button
In the dialog that opens, the current site should be pre-filled in the search box at the top of the dialog so you can remove that site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
I tried clearing all cookies and reloading the page to no avail. Tracking Protection was enabled for the site, disabling this feature does not change anything unfortunately.
If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block (wanted) content (e.g. Adblock Plus, NoScript, Ghostery, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block (wanted) content.
- make sure your extensions and filters are updated to the latest version
If you use Adblock Plus then you can consider uBlock Origin as a replacement to see if that works better (lower memory footprint).

You have Tracking Protection enabled in both regular and private windows, or only in private windows?

I had Adblock Plus and 2 other outdated extensions. I removed all of them but it doesn's change the problem.
You can check the Web Console (Tools -> Web Developer) for messages about blocked content and about the presence of mixed or unsafe content.
You can check the Network Monitor to see if content is blocked or otherwise fails to load.
If necessary use "Ctrl+F5" or "Ctrl+Shift+R" (Mac: Command+Shift+R) to reload the page and bypass the cache to generate a fresh log.
