I have a PUP reported in PREFS.JS
Malwarebytes Premium Trial 3.4.5 reports a PUP - PUP.Optional.Conduit in PREFS.JS. Malwarebytes runs every day when I start my computer and it reports this same "threat" each time. Each time I quarantine it as recommended, and the next day it is reported again.
Is this a genuine threat? If so, how can I get rid of it properly, which probably means preventing it from reinfecting me daily.
I'm using Windows 10 Pro 64-bit with latest updates, latest Firefox.

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.
The prefs.js file stores the Firefox preferences and other data used internally. Some of these settings can be modified via the Options/Preferences pages. It is not likely that this file contains a virus because its content is parsed, but since there are no details available about what exactly is the problem then it is hard to tell what is wrong. It might only be a link to a website. You can rename/remove prefs.js in the profile folder to make Firefox create a new file.
You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
