Web beacons aren't cookies!
I have been wasting my time looking for an answer to the obnoxious problem of beacons.
All kinds of self-proclaimed experts will tell you what beacons are and then proceed to tell you how to get rid of cookies! This is maddening. (Yes, I'm also talking to you, Mozilla!)
Even at Mozilla, when I was only directed to instructions about cookies and I resorted to searching via keyword, the keyword "beacon" brought up nothing at all, and "web beacon" over 1700 articles, all addressing the work "web". LOL.
Aside from invisible text and gifs, there is now an API for beacons.
But we all now, whenever there is a new hickup in terms of internet safety, a remedy is quick to follow. Except in this case, why so coy, Mozilla?
I want to know what to do about invisible beacon gifs AND beacon APIs. I am sick and tired of feeling used by clever programmers.

Hi, it is a war out there between ad makers and adblockers what works one day will not work on the next day.
Since no information came through about your Extensions and what adblockers you are using it is hard to say what to recommend. I run both : uBlock Origin and Ghostery and the list beacons that they block.

Give these a shot but do know they will break some sites and you will have to allow some things so can watch a video on CBS.com or NBC...
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
