When I attempt to log in to any site using FB, a pop up screen appears. Somehow, I have placed "1" in the body of the pop up. This freezes the system making it impossible to login to any site requesting FB verificitation. HELP? I am unable to provide a screenshot. This is simply the generic page that always pops up during FB login by Firefox. Only mine has a number "1" in the body.

Hi DrWh0m, thank you for sharing your add-ons list with your original question. Sorry for not noticing this earlier!

You are using the Facebook Container add-on which is designed to isolate FB from all the other sites you visit. I think SFGate cannot access your FB account, because of the solid walls that container places around FB addresses. As described on the extension's description page:

Because you will be logged into Facebook only in the Container, embedded Facebook comments and Like buttons in tabs outside the Facebook Container will not work. This prevents Facebook from associating information about your activity on websites outside of Facebook to your Facebook identity.

In addition, websites that allow you to create an account or log in using your Facebook credentials will generally not work properly. Because this extension is designed to separate Facebook use from use of other websites, this behavior is expected.

So... what to do about that. If you want to continue to isolate FB from sites like SFGate, and you don't particularly want your SFGate comments to show up on FB, the workaround you found (use a different sign-in method) is probably simplest.

On the other hand, if there are particular sites you WANT to mingle data with FB, then, hmm, you might not be able to use this add-on.

Delete your cookies and cache and your auto login for the site for FB.

I do not know. I'm just a retired guy in a New Mexico village. If I have a choice of posting a reply to a news article using FB or Google...Google works, FB does not. I'm thinking, I should be talking to FB. Thanks for your time.
