I have one site, my library search site, that whenever I try to run a search it fills the search box with a search argument that i used many months ago. It does not happen with other web browsers. I'm guessing that the search is saved somewhere in the inners of Firefox but can't find a location. Any suggestion on how to "search and destroy" this artifact?

Hi hankpoletto62, if it's Firefox's "Form History", usually the text will appear in a drop-down as you start to type in the field. You can use the down arrow to move the selection down to that item and press Shift+Delete.

If the data appears directly in the field and isn't a Form History entry, it could be cached data. Try reloading the page bypassing the cache using Ctrl+Shift+R. You also can empty the page cache if desired: How to clear the Firefox cache.

If it's not from the cache, the site may be filling it based on a cookie. To remove a single site's cookies, click the lock icon (or i-in-a-circle) at the left end of the address bar. After a moment, a "Clear Cookies and Site Data" button should appear at the bottom. Go ahead and click that.

In the dialog that opens, you will see one or more matches to the current address so you can remove the site's cookies individually without affecting other sites.

Then when you reload the page, the server won't be able to link your request with the older session where you ran that search.

Any luck so far?
