Thanks for the reply. If anyone else is interested, it seems like google is testing a new layout and you can probably get back the old layout by clearing the google cookie. Follow McCoy's link for more detailed info.

Hey, deleting google's cookies didn't actually work for me so it's not exactly resolved.

It is not a problem that is caused by Firefox; as mentioned in the other thread; you could post this question here :

(Firefox can't control Google's behavior)
