Every time I delete a message I get a pop-up asking if I want to empty all my trash, I don't want to empty my trash and the only check box is to empty my trash every time I delete an email which is ridiculous you wouldn't need a trash folder in that case just allow people to delete their trash folder if they don't want it OR put another check box on that stupid pop-up that says "don't show me this message again" like every other pop-up has

have you ever emptied your trash? Most folks these days use IMAP and IMAP is server based. IF you provider is getting antsy about your space usage, they might be imposing some rules. Like a mandatory emptying of the trash. Some providers just routinely delete everything in the trash once a fortnight.

I empty it after 30 days. It's the annoyance of closing that pop-up all the time every other pop-up has a "don't show me this again " check box there's no reason this can't have one too. It pops up even when there's only a couple of emails in trash.
