Ctrl plus m to bring in new mail?

It doesn't work now using T Bird, can I enable it, or is there another shortcut for bringing in new mail, when T Bird is open?

You will if there are new messages, but otherwise you may just see a brief flash of text at the left end of the status bar.

F5 = get messages for current account

Shift+F5 = get messages for all accounts

When I do that shouldn't I see that green progress bar bottom right, showing it's 'working'?
