I have a new i_mac 19.2 using catalina OS and firefox browser 78.8 and xfinity connect for e-mail. every time I boot up it asks for my mozilla/firefox master password. in 20 years of using firefox and thunderbird I have never been asked for the master password for mozilla/firefox . I had to go to xfinity connect to get e-mail service that worked because google and yahoo keep trying to highjack my mail app.

Are you using Sync as this is a possible reason to ask for the Primary Password on startup ?

This is because the credentials to login to the Sync account are stored in the Password Manager.

Make sure you install Firefox properly and that you do not run Firefox from within the DMG (Disk Images) file.

Open the Firefox Disk Images file and drag the Firefox application to the Applications folder on your hard drive. You shouldn't double-click the Firefox application to run it from the Disk Images, but instead drag it out of the DMG folder.
