set reply button default to "reply all" instead of "reply list"
I'm often accidentally replying to some random-seeming sub-list and missing cc'd individuals on department-wide messages, clicking "reply list" when what I want is "reply all". Is there a way to change the default option (i.e. set to "reply all" instead of "reply list"?) Looks like this question was asked recently: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1347649#question-reply
I'm using TB 99.0b2 on an intel Mac running macOS 12.3.1

I'm using version 91.7.0
My 'Reply-all' appears as default if several people were in TO, Cc fields. My 'Reply-List' appears as default if there is a list.
Sadly I do not have an email with TO and Cc and a list, so cannot test result.
In Preferences > General > Config Editor
Do you have this preference ?
mail.override_list_reply_to is set to true.
If no - are you able to add it as a new boolean preference and after a restart of Thunderbird, did it have any effect ?
In Thunderbird 52 a new behavior was introduced for replies to mailing list posts: "When replying to a mailing list, reply will be sent to address in From header ignoring Reply-to header". A new preference 'mail.override_list_reply_to' allows to restore the previous behavior.
Meaning to reply by default to the list you would set the value to 'false'.
Thanks for this! The `mail.override_list_reply_to` was set to true when I checked. I switched to false, restarted, no change. Is there another similar preference I can add/change?
This is not the answer you asked for, but you can customize the main toolbar to add reply, reply to list, and reply all buttons. This is how I use Thunderbird, reading mail in the bottom pane and ignoring the uncustomizable toolbar
