I am not sure if I am using the correct verbage but here goes: When I launch Thunderbird a panel opens in the upper left with all events that are in the past and not yet dismissed and all events for the current day that are not dismissed. I was in a hurry and instead of minimizing it I clicked the red x in the right upper corner. Now it does not dislay on startup and I cannot find a way to get it back since it has been there since I installed Thunderbird. I believe the correct name is Event Preview Pane but not sure. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am struggling. But I think you are talking about the event reminders dialog. This appears whenever you have an event reminder and stays around until you close it.

The today pane on the right has today's and tomorrows events listed, along with outstanding tasks.
