Moving Thunderbird Local Folders to Gmail

I have thousands of emails I've moved from Entourage into Thunderbird (mbox folders). They work fine in Thunderbird.

Now I'd like to move them to a Gmail account I've enabled via IMAP in Thunderbird. Moving them manually—either en mass, folder by folder; or individually—to Thunderbird's Gmail folder (label) does nothing; they don't show up in Gmail (either in Thunderbird or using Gmail's web interface).

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

You might try the importexport addon, but moving from PC to IMAP is not easy, as IMAP wasn't built for that. However, that addon sometimes works wonders.

Thanks. Have that add-on; that's how I got these folders to show up in Thunderbird (as Local folders).

Any other suggestions? (My real goal here is to move thousands of emails from Entourage to Gmail. I was hoping Thunderbird could act as an intermediary.)

Gratefully,

CM

After further review, I think your problem is challenging. The 'move to' in right-click in message list pane works, but only in small volume. There might be a separate utility that uploads bulk messages to IMAP.

Thanks again. To my experience, "Move to" doesn't work with even a single message.
