Why does FireFox not allow me to play videos in Youtube above the resolution 360p. Since now FireFox won't allow me to play YouTube videos from 720p or 1080p anymore. While other browser's allow me to play above 360p up to 4K resolution. What is going on with FireFox this never happen before until the upgrade of FireFox in Manajaro ARM.

Can you provide a link to video? Did you try Firefox in Safe Mode? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/diagnose-firefox-issues-using-troubleshoot-mode#search104

Try downloading Firefox from Mozilla. Download, unzip, and run firefox-bin from the folder and see if you have the same issue. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release

I have no issues is several versions of Firefox. see screenshot

Just to be sure, make sure you have FFmpeg to fully support HTML5 players.

Is this about Firefox on a desktop device since you posted with a ChromeOS (CrOS) useragent ?

Make sure you have the latest FFmpeg and libavcodec packages installed.

jonzn4SUSE This happens to all YouTube videos I try to play, it doesn't matter which video I play. I have tried Firefox in safe mode and still the same issue no resolution above 360p. I have also installed Firefox from Mozilla still made no difference. I'm thinking that Manjaro ARM XFCE for Raspberry PI 400 maybe the issue.

I was using Chrome OS with Raspberry Pi OS 64 bit to send the message. Please ignore that I'm using Chrome OS. I more interested in Firefox 118.0.1 been the issue here.

Do you have ffmpeg installed?

sudo pacman -S ffmpeg

or

flatpak install org.freedesktop.Platform.ffmpeg-full

Pick the flatpak runtime that matches firefox (flathub currently uses 22.08).

Can you play higher resolution videos with the flatpak package?

I do have ffmpeg already installed! I reinstalled the ffmpeg to no avail Firefox still does not allow me to play videos above 360p.

I'm using Linux Firefox Version 118.0.1-1 . I have tried Firefox with Raspberry Pi 400 4 Gigabyte and Raspberry Pi 4B 8 Gigabyte both have the same problem, no videos above 360p on YouTube when using Manjaro ARM 64bit Plasma KDE or XFCE. I also have tried the following Linux systems Ubuntu ARM 64bit, Raspberry Pi Full OS 64bit Bookworm and they both work above 360p with no probables.

I believe Firefox is the issue with Manjaro ARM, but what exactly is causing this issue I do not know. I could not find anyone else with the same issue using Manjaro ARM on Raspberry Pi 400 or Raspberry Pi 4B.

I'm don't have a great understanding when it comes to issues with Linux.

It sounds like a Manjaro-specific issue, the flatpak package might be unaffected.

If you have limited Linux knowledge, you will have less issues with a more mainstream distro like Ubuntu.
