Up to now, I think new bookmarks are added at the end of the list, unless you move them to a folder. What is different on yours? Or how did you sort them in a different way?

Sorry, my question was poorly worded. I know new bookmarks are added at the end of the list, and I sort them alphabeticaly in ascending order on my PC. But, up to now, when the SYNC function of firefox was executed on my PC (manually or automatically), the bookmarks were sorted on my smartphone Android too. My smartphone is connected to my PC Firefox. Similarly, any modification made on my PC was reflected on my smartphone. I think it's since the last update of firefox that the SYNC function doesn't work anymore.

I've never thought about how Desktop Bookmarks are sorted when displayed on Firefox for Android. As a test:

(1) In Firefox on Windows, I sorted one subfolder of my Bookmarks Menu and changed the order of two folders

(2) I launched about:sync, a page added by the About Sync extension (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/about-sync/) that lets you view what is in the Sync cloud. Under Bookmarks > Client Records, which is a flattened list of the bookmarks for the current Firefox installation, I could see that the changes had reached the server.

(3) Checked Firefox Nightly for Android. Changes hadn't hit yet. I used Sync Now to force an update. Now I saw those changes in the Desktop Bookmarks > Bookmarks Menu folder.

So I think as long as there has been time for the changes to move to mobile, they should still go. That said, it's always possible for some corruption to creep in somewhere that breaks the process.

Same problem I think. It's not that sync doesn't work, desktop bookmarks displayed on Android are not in the same order as they appear on the desktop version. There's no pattern or order, just randomly displayed. Don't think there's an android bookmark manager to resort effectively. Just want them in the same order as on my windows desktop. Just started with a recent update.

I agree with Jeff. Everything has been fine until a recent update - cannot say for certain which one though. Previously, if I sorted in any way on desktop, that ordering was synced to mobile. However, now the bookmarks, while all correct, are in an order that makes no logical sense to me. They just seem to be "dumped" into place.

Not sure what changed, but if you're not seeing an issue with the sync process, then could we please have sorting functionality on mobile?

I am having the same issue. Looks like the most recently added or viewed bookmarks/folders are listed first then perhaps the remainder in order of when they were added or access. Just started 2 days ago, 2-25-2025, when I manually updated my firefox app through Google store on my samsung android phone. I don't want to have to "sync" to my computer, sort and then upload to my phone as bookmarks on my phone are in many cases different than my computer not to mention the hassle of doing this. O LOVE Firefox but will switch to another browser if I can't rectify this as I use mu phone for 90% of what I do. Here the updated version I am running on my phone. 135.0.1 (Build #2016074239) hg-7c2ff1aa3394+GV: 135.0.1-20250216192613 AS: 135.0.1 2025-02016T23:04:58.024068892

Thanks

Dennis
