Everytime firefox is open it reads "unable to connect" I've already tried disabling the firewalls and allowing firefox to run, but no bueno. The computer is an Emachine and there are similar problems with other programs such as aol and party poker.net. Basicly, you can download the programs but they don't run. How do you allow these programs to open up?

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

I downloaded it!

Please try all suggestions from this article: Firefox can't load websites but other browsers can.

What security software do you have enabled (firewalls, anti-virus software, etc.)? Try following the instructions in Configure firewalls so that Firefox can access the Internet closely, since it's not always obvious how to disable the firewall/other security software completely or persuade it to browse the web.
