I cannot print from the internet when using Firefox. My printer prints fine when I use safari. To print from Firefox I have to copy and paste to a Word document. My printer used to print just fine from firefox, but it suddenly stopped.

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

== around March 2010

It's been more than four days and no clear answer from you guys at Firefox Help. What are we suppossed to do, when we encounter a problem like the one I have been trying to solve "my printer won't print from Firefox"? Your explanations are all geared to Windows users and I AM A MAC OS X user. I have been a good costumer for now almost TEN YEARS and I am starting to seriously think I am going to look for another browser if you are not willing to help me. I need to print my stuff. This is not just for reading. Thank you. Hoping you will send me a clear email ASAP

I am also having this issue and it has been going on for months and months. I tried everything suggested here in the forum. I still have to take a screen shot, copy into MS Word and then print. I'm getting very frustrated with this problem and there does not seem to be a clear cut solution.

I had the same problem and discovered that Firefox is not compatible with HP SmartPrint. Once I uninstalled that, I have no problems printing.

The is definitely a problem in Mac OS that I only have with Firefox. It won't print, and yes, all of the appropriate settings are correct. I have no problem printing from Safari, Chrome, or Opera. I do not have this problem in Windows.

I followed the advice of someone on the forum and it works. Delete all history and you will be able to print. I think this should be done periodically so you don't have this problem. I spent an hour on the phone with canon and they told me it was not the printer. Delete history and restart. Problem solved.

HERE IS A SOLUTION! I could not print in Firefox 4 Beta 7. Neither the Print menu functions, nor pressing CTRL-P would bring up any print menus. After reading some of the posts here, I disabled the extension "HP Smart Web Printing v. 4.60", and now everything works just fine!  :) Please note that the extension already had said that it was not compatible with FF 4 B 7. However, you actually must manually disable the extension and then restart FF. That is, apparently the extension somehow still messes up and disables printing even though it is being flagged by FF as "incompatible", and you need to manually disable it. And, after doing that, I can now print again!  :)

1. File > Print
2. {Ctrl + P} from the keyboard

There is a Print icon sitting in the Customize palette, all you need to do is open Customize and drag that icon to the location of your choice - on either the Menu bar or the Location bar.

My solution is simple: I won't use Firefox until my printing problem is fixed. It's been over a year since complaints started, so there is no excuse for this ongoing -- and for me, recently new -- problem. Besides, Safari is a pretty good browser!
