After a system crash & reboot, Firefox starts up in 'just installed' mode. I have tried changing my home page in 'Options' but this is ignored on the next Firefox re-start. I am using Firefox 3.6.9 on Windows XP Home edition with all updates installed

Further to above. After a Windows disk check found & deleted some corrupt files, Firefox seems to be holding my settings OK. Problem solved, I hope.

Thanks - that will be helpful if anything similar happens in the future. It was the preferences file that was corrupt but Firefox unhelpfully gave no indication of this - just reverted to 'newly installed' mode!
