Running latest version of firefox on an HP laptop with windows 7 64 bit. The printer has reset to "fax" and whenever you try to change it it immediately shifts back to "fax". I tried to reset all the print.printer resources as outlined in the online troubleshooting and it did nothing ot help. IE will print correctly, as will MS office products. I also tried clearing history and cache with no effect. The printer is an HP color laserjet on the network.

I take that back: it worked for a minute and then started up again: same problem on BOTH profiles now! Any further ideas short of complete removal and reinstallation?

Thanks

Bill

Did you check if there are extensions enabled in that new profile?
Some extension are installed globally and appear automatically in a new profile.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

See

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

  • Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
  • Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
