Had to wipe disks and reinstall everything. Lost all bookmark and speeddial data. How do I get back to where I was?

I am using an HP Envy 15 laptop. I recently had a problem that required me to restore from the original restoration disk thus wiping out everything I had added over the last year including Firefox. I had previously backed up everything to an external hard drive but that seems to have saved only photos. I've lost everything else. At least, I cannot restore any of the data back to the PC. I have downloaded Firefox again, but have lost all my bookmarks, scrapbooks, speed dial, etc. Is there anyway I can retrieve this data from Firefox?

Unless you were using the Firefox Sync extension and your Firefox data was uploaded to the Sync server, or you have a backup of your Firefox Profile data, your data is probably gone.

Try searching that backup data for a JSON file or a file named places.sqlite.
