Firefox is closed, won't reopen because it claims still running and I have to use task manager to remove from RAM

This is a constant bug that happens with Firefox... been happening for years.

I close the program and, later, when I reopen, it won't open because it claims to be already running.

I select task manager and the damn program is in there using up RAM. I close it and then Firefox will open.

This is Windows XP.

Also, it seems whenever I click on a link in an email Firefox is unobtainable because it needs to install an update. Lord knows how many updates you do a month... it always coincides with my wanting to use it.

Sorry, there were two updates this past week, the first update had a bug with Java performance and a 2nd update was released two days later. The update previous that those was back in mid-December. How time flies when we're having fun. LOL
