On earlier versions of Firefox, when you went to close the window, it popped up a window with options. I believe they were Save Tabs, Close Tabs, and Cancel. The new version, Firefox 4, no longer lets you save your tabs. Is there another way to close Firefox and save the tabs?

Yes, Firefox 4 will now always save your tabs, and you can restore them next time by choosing "Restore Previous Session" from the History menu, or press the big Restore button on Firefox's default home page.

If you'd like Firefox to ask whether to save tabs when you quit (like in previous versions), you can do that by typing "about:config" into the location bar and changing some settings: http://blog.zpao.com/post/3174360617/about-that-quit-dialog

I hope this is not a duplicate. This is my first time using this forum. Thank you very much for the answer to my question. I apologize for taking so long, my husband was ill. I chose to use the "Restore Previous Session" option. That way I can open Firefox and open new tabs if I should need to do so.

Again, thank you. I am also glad that this helped other people as well.

I followed this simple instruction, changed the 'browser.showQuitWarning' to 'true' as advised and it worked a treat - the 'Save and Quit' dialogue box is back in place. Many thanks for your help, mbrubeck
