I cannot find a way to clear the results that build up in the "Awesome Bar".

You can press the "Clear Private Data" button in the Firefox preferences to remove all of your private data (browsing history, cookies, passwords, form history).

If you just want to remove your browsing history, try one of these add-ons:

Thanks for your response, but that was one of the first things I tried... to no avail. And clearing the browser's history also does not clear the Awesome Bar. I find it hard to believe other people are not concerned about this. Or that Firefox developers did not make it easy to do so...

When you clear the history, the awesome bar suggestions should be cleared the next time the cache is refreshed (within a minute, or possibly the next time you start typing in the location bar). The delay is caused by a bug in Firefox: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=567121

This bug is already fixed in our nightly development builds, and the fix will be included in an upcoming release.

And I'm telling you... NONE OF THIS WORKS! I cleared History, Cache, and Private Data over 12 hours ago and the entries on the All Pages tab of the Awsome Bar are STILL THERE. In fact, some of the entries are from many months ago. I give up, I'm uninstalling Firefox Mobile 4. I cannot abide an application that does not give me control over my own privacy.

Sorry about that! We'll look into this more, and make sure we fix any further problems we find.
