It is not uncommon for me to have up to six windows with ten tabs each when I have Firefox running. The problem that I am having is sometimes I cannot open one of those windows from the task bar. Restarting Firefox does not help, I tried the cascade option but the window failed to show up in the cascade. The tabs from the window show up in the history how do I fix this?

You might be better off using the Tab Groups utility in a single window rather than opening separate windows because you don't want to display more than 10 tabs on each. See Use Tab Groups to organize a lot of tabs

Alternatively, install this add-on which allows you to reduce the width of each tab: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/custom-tab-width/

You could install this one as well to help you identify them easier: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/colorfultabs/

What you're doing at the moment though is taxing system resources. Every time you open a new window it opens a new process. The number of plugins you have installed also have to be reloaded again in each new window. I think that's where the problem lies.

See if you can reach those hidden windows via Alt + Tab
