There are two identities on my desk top. Until today, both worked the same when a URL was typed into the address bar.....I would go directly to the site. Now on one of the identities, instead of going to the website, it give search results. Some setting was obviously changed and I can't seem to determine how to reset to go directly to website. FF 4.0.1. Thank you. pinger

Hi- I decided to take the path of least resistance to avoid spending any more time than necessary on my "issue." I took FF4 off my computer and reloaded FF3.6.7....with no joy. I STILL am not able to have just a plain, old internet address bar in which if I type an internet URL I am taken directed to that web site....the the website address stays in the bar so I can hyperlink it, send it, copy it, etc. I don't get it.

When you reinstall, usually your existing settings are saved.

I realize the other thread has a lot of posts, but it actually takes only a minute to update your search setting. Please give it a try.
