I used to get the pop down screen that said information you are sending could be read by a third party, continue or cancel. at the left corner there was a little box the was checked that said basically always ask this first, somehow I was not paying attention and unchecked it. now the warning does not appear.

You can set the pref security.warn_submit_insecure to true and maybe other security.warn prefs as well on the about:config page.

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.
You can use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a pref more easily.

Thank you! Warning message came up, kind of scary when it says may void warranty.

You're welcome.

There is some (hidden) humor present in Firefox (try: about:robots ) although changing prefs can cause problems if you forget that you've made such changes. Firefox only has some basic settings accessible via the UI (compare that with SeaMonkey) and many more settings can be tweaked or changed via the about:config page.
