What should I do (other than change to a stable browser) since my bookmarks disappeared overnight and Firefox won't let me add any.
I had bookmarks the night before. I started Firefox in the morning, and they were gone. It will not allow me to add bookmarks. It will not allow me to restore bookmarks.
I am rapidly reconstructing my bookmarks on Google Chrome. If there is no fix to this, I will discontinue using Firefox and go back to Internet Explorer and Chrome exclusively. At this point, Opera and Safari are working better. Firefox is doing nothing but frustrating me.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
