I would really like to have a google toolbar for firefox 5.0, but it keeps saying that google toolbar isn't compatible. If it's not possible to have googletoolbar, then how can I uninstall the updates, because I really didn't want the update anyway?
I just find it really irritating that I accidentally installed this update and now I don't have access to a tool that I find really helpful. Please advise as to how I can either have this tool back or uninstall this update. Thanks!

You can turn off update notification but it is not going to change the fact that the Google Tool support has been permanently dropped by Google for Firefox 5 and up, which means that you will be unable to use new features of the Firefox browser and new features added to Google web pages as well. Suggest you turn off the compatibility test via the "Addon Compatibility Reporter" if you must for a while, but definitely start using the alternatives.
Tools > Options > Advanced > Update (use "Alt" if not already display the menu bar)
The Google Toolbar is no longer supported by Google in Firefox 5 and up, you may be able to get what you want from it for a limited time, the directions to install the Google Toolbar were posted before Google actually announced dropping support.

In any case you can find several alternative solutions, and you can start working on them now, see

You can make Firefox Firefox 5.0 look like Firefox 3.6.19, see numbered items 1-10 in the following topic Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 5.0, or 4.0.1, look like 3.6). Whether or not you make changes, you should be aware of what has changed and what you have to do to use changed or missing features.
