Firefox 5.0: I have no auto complete in Locator (address) bar? All parameters are set to enable book marks and history. I do have lots of bookmarks. I recently had to restore bookmarks.

I recently installed an earlier version of firefox in a separate directory as I was having a problem with the new Viewer on Ancestry.com (their customer support recommendation). It didn't work so I removed it. The 5.0 is a recent install but it worked before. I checked and made sure that bookmarking and history were enabled. It just won't auto complete and when I click on the down arrow (rt end of address bar) I get nothing.

Make sure you are not deleting history or bookmarks, you want most of the checkmarks unchecked -- cache is the only one you want clear. Also make sure when using the location bar your are displaying both "History and Bookmarks" so the AwesomeBar can look for items from both

I have used the address bar frequently since the problem began. I just checked my History record, it is blank and has no entries since I cleared it several days ago. (Had a rouge search engine that I accidentally downloaded when I was trying to get Firefox 3. I finally got rid of all traces and in the process cleared the history. But there should be at least 2 or 3 days of history and my bookmarks are ok! Auto complete is set to use both.
