downloaded something that made my new tab into a Bing thing:

See if there is a "Bing" extension and uninstall it."

• "Ctrl+Shift+A" > Extensions > uninstall "Bing"

I installed to update Adobe Flash today, it wanted to install Bing, you have to be real careful to avoid crapware installs
