using a mac computer whenever I open a pdf file using firefox in downloads it goes to pdf.part files and the screen keeps going crazy until the download has finished. never had this problem before an update was performed. I have to esc and then the pdf file appears in downloads where I can finally open it without the screen showing an on going opening and closing

I came across this just today. I tried everything - emptying cache and history, disabling recent add-ons, upgrading her Firefox. Still nothing helped. So I backed up her Bookmarks, quit FF and moved Mozilla and Firefox folders from her Application Support Library (user>library>application support) to another location. Then I started FF and it was like starting fresh. I restored her Bookmarks, but all of her other settings were lost. But it worked! Seems some file in one of those folders is corrupted.
