FYI: I experienced this problem whenever Firefox Sync was live. I logged out of Sync and after some time everything was normal.

Of course it can also be due to various other reasons.

This issue can be caused by the Ask.com toolbar (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions)

Your system details show that toolbar in the user agent as AskTbBCPA/3.13.1.18107
