Why do I not see http or https at the front of the web sites I am visiting?

At the top of THIS page I do see mozilla.com and then https://support but when I go to any other page like www.cnn.com or www.msnbc.com I do NOT see any http or https in front of it. IF I try to go to my bank site, it will load the front information and populate https as I expect but I do not see a setting where I can get it to show me.

That is a result of a very undesirable change in 7.0.1 to copy what Google Chrome is doing, and what Google is doing in search results.

Firefox is customizable and configurable. It is unfortunate that the original/simplest coding is always changed and that we must then undo so many cpu robbing changes with more corrections to give back the original content and intent. For solution, see
