Firefox is generally buggy with the new version of Gmail. Any solutions?
I have been unable to update contact information for new contacts. If you try to attach a file to an email, the 'choose file' box disappears after about 5 seconds. Very slow loading and sending of email. None of these occur in Safari or as expected Google Chrome.

See if this solves your problem, you only mention trying to send something, see if you can read from your inbox to see if you have a major problem there. If you do fix it as below, and see if you still have your problem with adding attachments to your email.

In Firefox, if you have "Adblock Plus" extension.
- "Ctrl+Shift+F" Preferences (or right click on ADP symbol, and choose preferences)
- 'Filters' menu > "Update all subscriptions"

also upgrade your browser to Firefox 8
Try disabling your installed extensions. That's what I did and now I CAN attach to emails
