Can I restore a previous session by going through the "containing folder" or my Mozilla profile?

On 12/29/11, my browser was still restoring my sessions, but on the 30th, it didn't I was wondering if it was possible to find all my tabs by going into my Mozilla profile (you know, going to the "containing folder" and opening the most recent "sessionstore.js" file? I know the file is supposed to have this type of information in it. Please tell me it's possible for me to restore my session. I've dealt with this before (when my settings didn't say to restore my tabs), but, it's been working fine since. It's extremely annoying when it happens & I can't figure out why it does this. I had 2 windows open (I don't know how many tabs I had- I know it was a lot). Please help. I'm desperate here. I really don't want to have to go through this again. Thanks.

Sorry I am afraid theis suggestion is too late but for future reference:

Whilst it may be possible to open restore sessions you would be better just using the Firefox History, assuming that you allow that to be saved. If you have a recent version of firefox the History item on the menubar or firefox button will give you the opportunity to restore a previous session.

  • alternativly type into the location bar:
    ''about:sessionrestore''
then hit the keyboard return key

One set of problems is cause by multiple restore files, and the solution is to delete them. As a general working practice it is probably best to keep tabs in folder groups and save them that way. When you do close down firefox please always try to do it by using the menu either from the file menu or the firefox button.
