What happened to the Awesome Bar?
My "Awesome Bar" is no longer awesome. It no longer appends my entry with "http://" & ".com" it just gives me a google webpage with suggested sites. I uninstalled my FF10 & reinstalled with 3.6.26. It worked fine with 3.6.26. I tried version 8 & it had the same results as version 10. Back to FF 10. Aside from the awesome bar not working correctly, now when I enter my search, I have to click the little arrow on the right of the URL bar instead of hitting "enter", Very annoying. Is there a fix for both related problems? Maybe Version 11??

Hi again Cor-el
I read the articles but have to admit that it's all Greek to me. Bottom line... if I go to about:config - keyword.url & enter the string http://www.google.com/search?btnI=I%27m+Feeling+Lucky&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=
will that do it for me??
Thanks.

That issue is caused by an AVG extension.
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Hi Cor-el. I restarted in safe mode & the Awesome Bar did still not work correctly... but it did fix the problem of hitting the "enter" key instead of the arrow. I disabled my AVG extension after I tested in Safe Mode & restarted normally. So, I still am getting the Google search page instead of being directly immediately to the desired page.
Any more ideas???
Thanks
The AVG extension is usually responsible for problems with the Enter key, so those should be fixed.
Problems with the search behavior of the location bar have other causes.

Yes, that will make Firefox perform a Google Lucky search if you enter an incomplete URL in the location bar.
Thanks!!! Works great!! You are a genius!!
