firefox will not remember Username and password
Despite ticking or unticking all the correct boxes in Tools>options> security etc everytime i return to websites i have to re-eneter my username and passwords. What can i do ?

Websites remembering you and automatically log you on is stored in a cookie.
- Create an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep such a cookie, especially for secure websites and if cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in Private Browsing mode.
Do not use Clear Recent History to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"
Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

I have done all of the above and dsadly makes no difference whatsoever
Did you check that Firefox keeps those cookies?
- Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Cookies are enabled and i have done everything else you have suggested. No change
On some sites the windows where you type in username and password actaully have the details already entered but I have to keep clicking Log On.
This is beginning to annoy because I have so many bookmarks I dont want to have to uninstall firefox
