Do you have Flash installed? You need a different version of it for Firefox. The plugin for IE will not work with Firefox. You can get it here:

You can check for problems caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update and possibly downgrade to Flash 11.2 or 10.3.

thanks guys - that fixes it - but now I can't play flash videos? Anything that allows both?

Which Flash version for Firefox do you have installed?

You can also try to disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 if you need that version on some websites.

gone back to flash 10.3 google works but flash objects don't!
