Go to settings, then you should be able to find a button that says "About Firefox". Make sure you are on version 17.

Thanks for the reply! I did that before and didn't see it. It's so tiny under the Firefox name that it never registered, and I'm on a large tablet screen. It took me awhile to find it this time and I only saw it because I was about to close the tab & my eyes moved there.

It would help if they showed it larger like they do in the desktop FF.
