On certain websites, specifically http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=37.96863533014183&lon=-91.7722025513649&FcstType=text&unit=1&lg=en using the touchscreen to scroll only selects text, and does not scroll. In addition, attempting to use the scroll bar using the touch screen causes the page to "page down" and then the scroll bar becomes unactive until you try to scroll again. You can scroll by taping in a blank part of the scroll bar as expected.

It is possible that some of the status keys have the wrong state and Firefox sees them as still pressed.

Try to press all the status keys (Shift, Ctrl, Alt) a few times to see if that helps to recover from this.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.

I restarted Firefox with all Add-Ons disabled, and changed my theme to Default. There was no change. I still couldn't scroll.
