my new machine has win8 64 and firefox will not allow me to type text until I hit the win+f9 key to restore functionality, what does this key combination do?
I have Win8 Enterprise x64 and firefox 20.0.1, I have researched the win f9 key combo and cannot find anything that says what this does to allow me to enter text in firefox. It happens a few times a day and I cannot figure out why this resolves the problem.

Check your settings for Windows, then Firefox.
