Added "Favorites" to toolbar, so toolbar now reads "File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Favorites, Tools, Help". However, as of today, the favorites (added in IE) are gone. So I give up, and will use the more cumbersome "Bookmarks". Since I am not going to use Favorites, how do I remove it from the items in the toolbar?

Uninstall whichever add-on you installed to access your Favorites from Firefox — probably PlainOldFavorites.
