Maar daarna weer "Not responding".

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Thank you, Cor-el, for your answer. Sorry, that I delayed in my reply. The reason is that I also have contact with a Microsoft helper about this problem and I wanted to wait for his reaction on your comment. Well, his reaction is that my security software (Microsoft Security Essentials ens Windows Firewall) cannot be the reason for this problem with Firefox.

Instead, he made on my PC a new users account. And with this account there is not any problem. I now think that the log-in software of my Dutch bank (ABNAMRO e.dentifier) causes the problem. ABNAMRO help desk advised me to take Google Chrome as my browser. Which seems to be ideal!!??
