Hi: I've seen old posts about Top List on Android Firefox. No reply appears to understand the problem or offer a fix.

Put as simply as possible, it is impossible to clear the Top List without losing all other bookmarks and information.

It is possible to remove an individual site from the Top List but not delete all sites at once. If one of the Top List sites is also a bookmark it is impossible to remove it. It is impossible to stop the Top List being generated. Why is it there, why is there no ability to control its behaviour, and why can't it be fixed? Surely it should be easy to provide a setting that says "Do not use Top List." Or provide a setting that allows all sites to be deleted. Could anyone explain why it exists? Firefox for Android provides the ability to transfer my bookmarks from the desktop Firefox. So why provide this damn extra, annoying list that is uncontrollable. Why would anyone want a random list of sites to clog up Firefox? I've even installed the Firefox Beta in the hope that the mistake would be fixed. Silly me, it is still there. The trouble is that other browsers I've tried behave in the same way but I stick with Mozilla because I've given money in the past. Fix it and I may give more. Disgruntled Donald

Hello there, The top list in Firefox for Android is ment to give you quick links to the sites you navigate to the most. If you wish to remove items from the Top list, simply hold down one of the items and press edit, then you are presented with a normal list with all your Top sites, you can then delete individual items just by holding them down and pressing Delete. Bookmarks cannot be removed from this list as long as they remain a bookmark, I don't really know why.

I hope this helps

Hello Jorgen: Thank you for the response, unfortunately it doesn't help. Why have a top list if you also have bookmarks? Furthermore, the removal method you suggest does not work. I say again. Why not provide a method of stopping Top Sites altogether or, if I want to use them, a sensible method for arranging them. If a top site is also a bookmark you can't touch it. This is the stupidest Firefox I've ever met.

Why would any user want a permanent list of sites visited on a particular day? One day I'm searching for Olympus lenses so get stuck with those sites. Next day I'm looking for drain cleaner and get stuck with those. Then I have to laboriously deleted each one. BUT, if one of the sites happens to be a bookmark as well then I can't touch it and it clutters up the Top Site list. Where have Mozilla's collective brains gone?

Even worse, the Top Sites list is populated with bookmarks I haven't used in years. They came over from the desktop. In fact there are some I can't even find on the desktop and seem to be from my Toolbar list.

When you look at history in Chrome there is an X to delete the tab - a one step process. Not so on Firefox. Why is Mozilla trying to push users towards Chrome?

And finally, this site is a mess. It took me 5 minutes to try to navigate back to this place to post a response. What is wrong with the normal forum view where one can browse the posts? Sigh, losing the plot. But syncing with my desktop bookmarks did work well! Donald
